Man in street, West St Kilda, 1974 – Limited edition of 100
I was never certain if this man was a St Kilda resident or not. I used to occasionally see him in the streets of West St Kilda. To me he embodied the wild St Kilda temperament that existed then.
This photograph comes from the series 'St Kilda Photographs'. Over two years Crawley shot over 5,000 negatives, all of which were developed and printed in a homemade darkroom in St Kilda. This exhibition of photographs was exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1975.
The photograph is of the highest quality available. The print is made onto archival Museo Silver Ragg 300 GSM heavyweight art stock. As long as it is displayed correctly this photograph will never degrade.
